I think the text is challenging enough to accurately measure my skill level. It includes words as well as symbols that would be commonplace on projects that would be typed in the real world. The texts that are used in the program are interesting and cover a range of topics. One of my favorites was the story about astronauts that included the history and origins of the word as well as some information about the early days of our space program. 

RapidTyping includes a virtual keyboard that will prompt which keys to press while you're making your way through the typing lessons. You can choose from three levels, which are Beginner, Advanced, and Expert.

The typing games are enjoyable ways to practice your typing skills, although they're not exactly thrilling in terms of gameplay or eye-popping in terms of graphics. Few will sustain interest for more than a few minutes, but that's not what they're for; they're just ways to put some variety into the experience of learning to touch-type

The program does not include a lot of customizable features, and there are not a lot of text samples to type out. I would probably get through the entire repository in a few sessions, but this utility would be a great tool to use in the classroom or as a measure of general proficiency in the workplace. The program would be better if there were various skill levels and challenges that could be achieved as a way to chart progress and improvements over the course of time.
